I've found it annoying how far NHL and MLB teams go with the rainbow-themed stuff in recent years. Certainly this guy can't be the only player who didn't wish to participate, but clearly he's the one with the guts to actually not do it.

Any other sports fans find this stuff being put in sports unnecessary and inappropriate? Ivan deserves our respect.

I’m not a sports fan but I think the virtue signaling from large corporations, media and people in general is gross.
I think the fact that this is even news at all is utterly retarded.
When it’s shoved down peoples throats and they’re coerced into participating then all it does is fuel hatred.
It also alienates and pushes the actual people who spend money away to appease a loud and extremely small minority.
If your sexuality or your politics is part of your identity then you’ve got no real identity.
I don’t need to celebrate being a straight, white, man because I celebrate and take pride in actual accomplishments.
I do wish more people would stand up to these mentally defective, weirdo, deviants and their demands.

He got a TON of respect. Provorov jerseys are all sold out right now. Ivan Provorov was humble during his interviews and in no way came off as a right-wing nut. He was the perfect spokesperson for normalcy.

Let’s just look at some lgbtwtf ever stats
They make up around 3% of the population.
Gay men commit around 1/3 of all sex crimes against children.
Now when less than 3% of a population are committing over 1/3 of a certain crime they probably should be separated from the majority.
That’s only the ones that are reported and prosecuted.
So no one tell me these fucking weirdos deserve some sort of celebration or that it’s healthy or normal.

I really wish that people would just learn to accept the fact that not everyone agrees with their world view and move on. It’s not like buddy is advocating hanging all of the gay people for fuck sakes.

I personally have nothing against gay people at all, but the amount of vitriol being levelled against this guy for exercising his beliefs and not participating in something that he doesn’t agree with is disgusting.

Coerced compliance is not compliance at all — it’s blackmail. If you have to force your beliefs on someone in order to assuage your own ego because it’s that fragile then your beliefs fucking suck, plain and simple.

Exactly right. He didn't say anything hateful. He respectf chose not to participate.
Just as plenty of athletes have chosen not to participate in the anthem or presidential visits.

He shouldn’t be forced to wear it, he should be free to wear his regular jersey. I supposed it would be the team owners prerogative to choose to abide by the contract or not.

Just as with taking a knee in the NFL got highly politicized: the athletes have a job and being visible is a part of them. If it’s not disruptive or harmful, let them speak their mind, but otherwise get on with it.

Some people identify as a tree but a male sexually attracted to a male is homosexual. We’re talking about actually 1.6% of the population with a large proportion of the crime. I’ve worked in gay several gay clubs in the past and I’m well aware of how the gay male community is
