now that college is starting one of my boys been on some loser shit. Fat, lazy smelly, and smokes all day. I try to get him to the hit the gym with me or to pick up some girls but he doesn't wanna do shit. Instead he plays the game. I'm done putting energy into people who don't want to change.

It's Always a shame when friends go down this route. One of my best friends from senior year went to Penn State, dropped out and really did the same types of things you're describing.

The last time I saw him was on the bus over 10 years ago. He had a cigarette behind his ear and was clearly high on something.

I hope he's doing well, but there's only so much you can do when your vision for life is so different.

Never hangout with fat friends

What if it's at the gym?

Has he given any indication why he's going down this route?

It sounds like you're being a great friend. Trying to get him off of his ass to better himself and enjoy life.

Nah man, seems like he doesn’t wanna put in the work. Still has a high school mentality.

The hardest thing to do at points in our life is see our own true reflection.

Perhaps it is the delivery not the message.
In my marriage I learned finally how to deliver the message, I now get everything I ever wanted/desired and even what I did not know I needed. So not what you say, how you say it.

He sounds like a judgemental ass to me.

People can do what they want. I don't need or demand people train with me to be friends.

Everyone is taking his at face value, but all I see is some guy crying on the internet over shit that ultimately doesn't matter.

I have a much bigger problem with demanding judgmental fucks than I do with people who are content with smoking and playing video games. Oh no, how horrible.... a person spending time doing the thing they want to do. 🙄🤷‍♂️

I don't get it. Everyone acting like playing games and enjoying yourself is the absolute worst thing in the world.

Personally I'm on the side of the guy playing games. He's probably enjoying himself and hasn't given this guys demand to train with him a second thought 🤷‍♂️

I hate that I can't multi quote on here anymore.

Video games and smoking leads to being a useless sack of shit who gets high on the bus? C'mon now... while that was your experience, the vast majority of people can do this without resorting to "ass to ass" type behavior.

This one post has me wishing I was still blind. People are so weird over what other people choose to do or not do.

I can see why you'd say that.

I took it more as him caring about his friend.

People can do what they want. I don't need or demand people train with me to be friends.

This can be applied to anything.

People can do crack or heroin too, but if someone is into training and eating clean then there will be less common ground.

Everyone is taking his at face value, but all I see is some guy crying on the internet over shit that ultimately doesn't matter.

If he really cares about his friend, why doesn't it matter?

yea people can do whatever but thats all he fucking does. he's failing college and isn't doing shit with his life. If anything you're the selfish asshole friend for not trying to get a friend out of a rut. you'd let your friend do heroin and meth as long as he isn't hurting anyone right?

I'm a hardcore gamer i got no issues with it just dont allow it to swallow your soul like I did running clans and treating it like a full time job. Some games eat days off the calender like popcorn at the movies

Fair point but video games and smoking usually don't lead to being lean, fit and going on dates with attractive women either.

They may for some, but it seems to me like the OP can see that it's turning his friend into an unproductive sack of shit.

This one post has me wishing I was still blind. People are so weird over what other people choose to do or not do.

I don't think the OP is caring about what strangers do in their homes. He is just genuinely concerned for his friend.
