Am I walking enough?

I wanna be a little leaner this THICCC boy season but I also don't wanna prevent gains. What are yalls thoughts/opinions/experience.....
I like to keep my exercise all before heading to work so I can crash the fuck out at the end of my day. I start my weight training first after eating a little 40g protein yogurt (hate training full). After weights I drink a full or at least half of 50g shake and do a minimum 20min walk but usually 30-45 minutes depending on time since i still have to shower and haul ass to work. I do 3 or 4 incline and speed set at 3. About 1.5 miles. I have noticed face slimming down a bit along with midsection so I can tell it's working in that department (still not satisfied). Just wondering if yall think the juice is worth the squeeze to cut enough body fat and also not preventing gains with it being right after weight training? Thank yall in advance.

Personally , I space my cardio out 4 hours from my weights. I know not every one can do that due to work , life , family and such.

I'll hit it in 15 min blocks , im old , my knees are fucked and it hurts less doing it this way

15 min before I meal prep
15 min while its cooking

An I repeat that at supper time.

Gets me 60 min - 16-20 miles a day depending on speed n energy

I do about 10-15min on the stair master at 8-10speed after training.

My trainer wants me to go by calories burned (100)

But mentally I'm only good on that thing for 10mins lol

I got my stationary bike in the living room in the corner so i just turn it out to the TV and put on youtube and watch videos .. flys right by.

How many days a week are we talking about? 20 minutes at that pace would not slow my gains down. 45 minutes at the level 7 days a week might take a little toll on my legs if the diet doesn't have adequate nutrition.

HIIT can sap your strength and training if not incorporated in your training correctly, even some machine cardio can smack it. As for walking, it's not going to impact your gain at all unless it's way overdone.

Walking is good for both the body and the mind so make time for it.

Walking is good but it can only do so much . I prefer to ride a bike every morning for 1 2 hours

Guess I'm gonna have to look up walking VS bike. You don't agree with Thomas Delauer that walking is the king of fat burning? Lol Not bagging on the guy either. Just curious.

No I have decades of experience In this field . U need to push the cardio to get the result u will want

It could be, but for most, it's not. The most total fat is burned at a Zone 2 heart rate. Unless someone was very untrained/sedentary, walking is Zone 1. Still effective for burning fat, but not the best.

Most would need to bump it up a notch with incline walking, or light jogging or cycling, for example.

The best real world way to determine if you're in Zone 2 or not is the talk test. While performing the activity, you should still be able to have a conversation, but it will be slightly labored. The person that you're talking to will know that you're exercising. For most, they can have a normal conversation while walking, and if they were talking on the phone, the other person would have no idea that they were walking.

If you work harder than this, yes, you're still burining fat, but a little less as your glycolitic energy system, aka burning glucose for fuel, ramps up while fat burning lessens a bit, to keep up with the increased energy demands.
The harder you push the more glucose gets burned and the less fat, up until you're REALLY pushing hard, and then it's pretty much just glucose being used for fuel, and minimal if any fat is used. But, upon cessation of this hard exercise, fat oxidation is ramped up to refill ATP stores in the muscles, and allow glycogen replenishment to occur. The "afterburn effect" is a common name for this. These are your Zones 3-5

Now if you do an all-out sprint, like 5-10 seconds, the energy demand is so great and so fast that even glucose can't keep up. Stored ATP in the muscles is what's used for this. And since we have a very limited capacity got storing ATP, it's why TRUE all out sprints are only very short. Nobody on the planet can go all out for even 30 seconds. This is Zone 6. (I use the Zones 1-6 system)

And yes, you are burning fat immediately when you start light cardio. It doesn't turn on after a set time period. In fact, you burn a large amount of fat during sleep, when you're not even moving.

Glucose, however, is being burned by our bodies 24/7, 365 days of the year. It never stops, just how much is happening does.

Personally hate cardio, but as I get older I do it. Walk 10mins after every meal. Guys in prison fo burpees, but that is a 20 year old guys game. Not mine. Will swim my ass off though. Also jump rope and walk an hour each night

Cardio is great for health purposes, also very effective for burning calories.
