Figured I would ask to see if anyone's in the same field. Trying to find someone that works places that ships a lot of freight. I am finally at the point where I can work on building the business not working in it anymore. If anyone does hit me up on DM's if you do not want it public. See if there are any mutually beneficial opportunities out here in fucked up little community.

That's great man !!

My son works for a big company in SC , they ship solvents like peg400 all over the place by the tanker truck but I don't know shit about how that works or if they use outside companies to do it.

I'll make a note here and ask him how that works when we talk. Might luck out , i have no clue.

I worked for Forward Air some in my 20's. One of my close friends is still the terminal manager there, but I've been out of the industry for a long time.

I ship a lot now as an ecommerce store owner, but I'm not in the freight business anymore. I mainly deal with UPS and CH Robinson now.

It's an interesting business. I still have some friends who do it.

If you ship a lot of LTL I can let you know how to get best prices cause CH sucks lol.

I probably average 2 or 3 ltl shipments a week usually. So probably not a lot. The other issue I have is my ltl shipments have lots of different origin and destination points since my suppliers are all over the place.

If you sign up directly with Priority 1 they have an LTL system you input what your shipping sizes weights etc and they quote you out from several different LTL carriers and you get their discounted pricing. Few shipments a week add up over the year.

I know, that's less than where I'm at now, minus the free gear. 😁

I didn't even demand a pension or 401k match. Fucker is trying to screw me over!!!
$40/hr is really good for a cdl driver. Most it got down here was $35 when the market was crazy.

I think UPS will be at $45 at the end of this new contract.
Only issues with these jobs is that the taxes dues and all that shit a big chunk is missing but the upside is pension insurance etc... Out here it's mostly 1099 contractors.

Yup, I'm only staying where I'm at because of the pension and insurance.
