Just got a DEXA yesterday since it's been almost a year, figured I'd depress myself for some motivation, actually wasn't terrible, barely a 3lb difference on the scale from last Sept, but like 4.5lb added lean, couple lbs fat gone, even bone density up, last scan was 13.6%BF, this one was 10.9%BF at 216lbs. Sounds good for being 5'10", but definitely don't feel I look like what I'd assume somebody would look like with my stats.

I find a huge difference between the mirror and camera lens. I'm usually pretty happy with how I look in the mirror, then I take a pic, and it looks like shit. 🤯
I hear the camera adds 10 pounds, no wait, in the winter around the holidays its more like 20 pounds.

Its funny, I almost never like how I look in current pics but I'll look at older pics and think man I looked good back then even though at the time of the picture, I hated the way I looked.

I think that whole ,, the camera adds 10 pounds thing .. comes from people that only look at themselves in the mirror when they shit shower n shave.

Then they get the Christmas snaps back from Fotomat and think ,, holy fuck im a fat bastard.

Damn Camera added 10lbs to me .... sure it did Capt 3 pieces of Pumpkin pie ,, sure it did.

Post an upper and lower pic. I may be able to shed some light on this.

I have always been around your numbers and always said I can make 215 look two different ways.

Depending on a person body type, where they store their fat the % of BF can look different. i was a fat kid growing up so even on stage i feel fat. The truth and feeling often are not the same. And how one feels about themselves in their teens i find carries over how thye feel about themselves the rest of their lives.

Very true. For some no matter how lean they get they always see the fat kid.

I’m 5’10, I’ve been 215lbs but I was probably at 19% then.

If, indeed that BF, you should look pretty yoked.

Even with that BF, in clothes I did look like I had some mass. I was physically heavy for sure: furniture groaned, I’d unintentionally body people, and I stretched clothes. Granted a lot was water and fat.

Keep in mind, we've probably all gotten conditioned to some extent to seeing bodybuilders/fitness figures on social media. Just a few words about that. Lighting, angles, tanning/cosmetics, camera equipment, phote editing, etc....pretty difficult to take a selfie on your phone that measures up.

I have a hard time even wearing a tank in the gym or public. Yesterday at the gym I was so fkin pumped and wanted to get down to a tank but felt like a douche bag. Idk how some people with back titties can like, just go in a Subway and order a sub sandwich like that. I have confidence issue’s apparently

I can relate to this. On paper I do everything right but feel like I struggle to see the results

Is that a lightbulb around your neck in your avatar? And is that a girdle for a shirt? Your picture is blowing my mind.
