Anyone tried Methylene Blue? effect on NO production

my doctor recently suggested I try methylene blue, which is a blue dye that also has biologically active properties. It increases serotonin amongst other things, as well as being an antioxidant with antibacterial and antiviral properties amongst a whole bunch of other things.
The only problem with it is that it kills Nitric Oxide, which is critical for getting a pump when lifting and vasodilation and blood flow.

I tried it today for the first time, only 2 drops in water, some people take 20-40 drops. It felt like it let me out of mental prison... I stopped dissociating, I felt like i could actually think and have a conversation of my own thoughts and felt like myself again, for the first time in a long time.

I went to the gym tonight and I tried to offset the anti NO effect by taking 6 grams of L-arginine, also for the first time. I had really good focus in the gym, better than normal however I did feel slightly weaker, but it could have just been an effect of the focus allowing me to get fatigued much faster than I'm used to by better contractions and more intensity early in my workout, or, it could also because of my poor nutrition in the last day or 2.

I still got a pretty good pump, I wouldnt say it was the best ever, it did seem maybe a little different from normal but it could be all in my head. I just wanted to see if anyone had any experience with anything like this. Lifting is so important to me and the high I get from the pump and the gym is part of what keeps me alive, part of what i live for. I was thinking maybe I could just take methylene blue on days or times when I'm not going to the gym.

Any thoughts are appreciated

Just use 8-9g of citrulline DL Malate 2:1 and 2 grams orthinone.

I swear someone here said methylene blue was carcinogenic. Was days ago, but I'm sure I read correctly

thats what I found out too. I'm not using it

If caffeine doesn't bother you there is a pre-workout you can get at Walmart that has good Citrilline in it. Called LIT AF. This is in no way an endorsement. Just an honest review. I drink it every morning and add 2g creatine hci.

Keep us updated I looked into methylene blue a long time ago but never followed through.

ive been taking l-arginine in the morning before my workouts with my creatine and usually just a cup of coffee, but i've heard citrulline can be better... is that true?

There's a popular form all about methylene blue and it's supposed thousands of cures. I think it's ran by a Dr pete, have you ran into that.

Taking L-arginine, which is a precursor to nitric oxide, could help counteract that to some extent, as you noticed in your workout. L-arginine helps in the production of NO, so theoretically, it could mitigate some of the vasoconstriction caused by methylene blue. Still, the slight decrease in strength and the different feeling in the pump could be due to a combination of factors like mental focus, intensity, and potentially your nutrition, as you mentioned.

Try 1500mg of GABA about an hour before bed…… It cleans up neuron waste gives a slight GH boost but improves your sleep 2x better than normal.
Before starting I was someone that very rarely dreamed,I now dream every night,have restful unbroken sleep and have gained probably 2-3 hrs more sleep.
My wife uses it as well to same effect.

Now here’s the really interesting thing, I have a buddy that has seen a lot of combat….. only slept 3-4 hrs and had night terrors as well.

He now sleeps 5-6 hrs no longer experiencing night terrors..,.. He was so grateful he hugged me !

Methylene blue seems to be really surging in popularity lately, personally unless youre someone thats getting a very noticeable benefit from it(seen ppl with certain conditions say it lifted brain fog significantly), Id probably hold off for sometime and see what info comes out in the coming few years.
As far as NO, have you tried beet root extract? Out of everything ive tried, that increased my pump the most. Also gave a decent reduction in BP. This was years ago but my BP was around 135/80 at the time and it got it down about 10pts, although i had to dose more than once a day

People are always jumping on the newest fad hoping for a miracle. as the therapeutic dose for methylene blue is pretty high and what most people are using is just a small fraction yet are expecting the same results which seems unlikely. I can easily find as many if not more people that say it did nothing for them other then stain things blue. If something really works, then it should work for the vast majority. when only a small group says something works i tend to rack that up to placebo.
