Do you count the smith bar as extra weight?

Curious to see who adds the smith bar weight to the weight numbers when tracking your work outs?

I don’t add the weight when doing smith cause I have no idea of how much weight it adds. I’m sure it’s not much but was looking at me doing 90 or 110 for a warmup or finisher and I’m like damn looks like woman numbers 😂

I have literally never given a moment of thought as to how much the Smith bar weighs, because it doesn't matter at all.

I just pretend it's 45 lbs because I always use the same one. It doesn't matter to me the actual weight, just for tracking purposes

I did find some other info that says they can weigh as much as a standard bar but due to way some of them are pulley assisted and such a 20kg bar might only feel like 12kg and so on.

Exactly, just like on every single other machine that you use. You wouldn't add the weight of the arms of a chest press, or subtract the weight of a bar on a pulldown, or factor in the weight of the pad on a leg extension... If you ever trained your legs. 🤣🤣🤣

Hey fyi I was training legs and ended up messing up my thigh been dealing with it for months and. Won’t go away need to make an apt to an Ortho. Right leg keeps going numb and and there is a shooting pain through my thigh 😔

For sure not a pinched nerve just dealt with that not too long ago and for sure not pulled cause would be better by now I just got to make that apt and get it checked

The one at my gym says it weighs 25lb but feels like about 10lb so I only count the weight on the bar for tracking.

Ah understood, I only do it as 45 so when I see 45s on there I go 135, 225, etc. Ill start trying to do actual math otherwise and then I got probs lol
