Glucose increases after fasted cardio?

Hey, I just noticed that after I did my fasted cardio in the morning that my blood glucose went up a few points. It was 104 when I took it this morning after waking up. I know, a bit of a "dawn effect" since it is a little over 100. But all I did was drink water and take my morning meds and did forty minutes of steady state cardio. For me that's 117bpm. Afterward, I checked my glucose levels again to see that it went up to 116. I double checked and did it again and it was 114.

I just asked my Google device why this could be the case and the answer was elevated adrenaline levels. Has anyone ever looked into this? I'm thinking of switching out my cardio from right before bed to right after waking up in the morning. Lately I've been checking my blood glucose levels quite frequently just to keep an eye on things. Is this nothing to be concerned about?

It just seems counterproductive that something like steady-state low intensity cardio would result in an increase in blood sugar when the medical advice we seem to read or hear about says that exercise will lower your blood sugar levels.

When you exercise, what is your body using for energy? Wouldn’t it make sense that your body is actively transporting that?

When people are losing a lot of weight, their bloodwork can show high triglycerides. Losing weight is unhealthy then, according to bloodwork.

That's just a single moment in time. As you exercised, even though it was cardio, your muscles still use some glycogen. Your liver will dump some into the bloodstream if it gets low, you might've just caught it at the wrong time.

Or your meter sucks.

Is there some reason you're concerned about your blood glucose levels.

I have been a little concerned since my fasted morning glucose levels are a bit over one hundred. I thought I had it under control for a while there. I started doing my cardio at night right before bed and then when I checked my glucose levels in a fasted state it was around 85-94. So I thought I learned what to do to keep my fasted glucose under 100 in the morning. But then out of nowhere about two to three weeks of keeping it under 100 it's now over 100 in the morning again.

About five or six weeks ago I was treated with antibiotics for what we think might have been some bug that caused me diarrhea for nearly ten days. Either the antibiotics worked or it cleared up on its own. Not sure if the course of antibiotics somehow changed my body chemistry temporarily resulting in a lower fasted blood glucose. It was the only change to my life that I'm left guessing had a temporary improvement on fasted glucose levels.

Was that meant to be Hemoglobin HGA1C? Back in late July it was 5.2 which I know is good but my fasted glucose was 103.

CJ was correct, it's HbA1C. Fasted glucose matters less than your HbA1C values

According to webmd.com they're both the same thing:

glucose is an immediate snap shot in time. HbA1C Is an average over the last 3 months and a much more accurate method of measurement.

Doctors only use serum glucose on blood work to determine if they need to make the patient spend more money and get the HbA1C test.

Yes, I am aware of what you are correcting me on. And I provided a site from webmd.com saying that HGA1C is also called HbA1c. Which translate to them being the same thing. I just mentioned my fasted glucose levels simply to provide more information. It's above 100 in a fasted state. I'm not confusing fasted glucose with HGA1C/HbA1C test results.

I had 903 grams of carbs yesterday, my blood glucose this morning was 91.

Nothing really important there, just fucking with you @r_d_2.0 😁

I never said you were confusing fasted glucose with HbA1C. I said that fasted glucose doesn't really matter if your HbA1C is normal.

You seem to be over reacting to what I said. My original response to you was a single sentence. Chill my dude, you're going to hard on this topic. You really don't need to think too hard about this, but you do you I guess. 🤷‍♂️

I just went back and looked at this guy's post history... yeah, I remember who he is now... so I'm going to stop wasting my time in this thread.

An example of one of the many gems he has left us. Thanks to him I now know that human biology is no longer applicable when taking exogenous testosterone 🙄

I must have struck a nerve with you. You poor thing. I can only imagine if I actually made an effort to get on your nerves. Kinda like the way you're trying to doing here with me.

I would really appreciate it if you didn't waste your time on me anymore. You said "CJ was correct", directly implying I was wrong when in fact what he and I were talking about were the same thing. They're just labeled with two different acronyms. How that basic simple bit of information went over your head I'll never know.

Honestly, you don't make a good moderator. That's not meant to be an attack on you. It's simply true. You get so easily butthurt so now you dredge up an unrelated thread, link it to this thread, twist my words around and attempt to invalidate me with your snide comment, "the many gems he has left us."

Thanks for providing us all with your shining example of an ad hominem fallacy.

Are you really eating that much in carbs or just joking? I'm around 250-300g these days and I'm on the toilet at least three times a day. It can get kinda bothersome needing to be by a toilet so frequently.
