While fully agreeing with you, if heavy metal contamination happened that way in any significant amount of cases, I assume we'd see at least one positive out of the results in the recent years.
I agree it would be rare and not every one goes for testing an anomaly could sneak through. I was just bringing up the way things can be traveled as a possibility of how it could happen. I could also see how if this did happen even just a few times how over the years it could take on a life of its own and become a "fact" and not an oddity as the story is recounted over an over and people add in their own twist as is often the case, seems to be human nature and how simple things become legends.

Lets say each injection contained trace amounts of heavy metals, so small that is fell below a certain standard. Over time repeated small traces add up in the body.
Let's say there are permissible heavy metal content limits in drinking water, food and medicines too.

huh.

Well, my assumption is the test done by Bill Llewellyn was on finished oils and not raws. I'm some of those tests, heavy metals were detected but it didn't say what the amount was.

The amount is important because there are defined acceptable tolerances, and a positive/negative report only tells you if a metal was detected... and not if it exceeded the acceptable threshold.

I think all information posted here has been good. The mentioning of fractional crystallization; useful if you ever get raw that's been cut with something like salt... Pretty sure it was either @silentlemon1011 or @Mighty-Mouse that used this method to purify some proviron they got that was cut with salt.

The back and forth on proof of heavy metals, which led to minor discussion of SIMEC and even using environmental labs as an option to test for heavy metals.

I like the content provided overall, even if there was some contention initially.

definitely wasnt me.
I dont even know what it means.
Raw powders, tea, spices and practically anything else coming out of China contains heavy metal content. Overtime those metals can lead to a load of medical issues including Cancer.

There are plenty of studies out there outlining the heavy metal content of items coming out of China. Its not my job to select or debunk those studies like some have on here. Take the studies for what they are worth to u....

Some heavy metals will accumulate in the body over a lifetime. Repeated exposure increases ones chances of developing a side effect or disease. Even if a test shows the heavy metals fall below a certain standard, repeated exposure increases the buildup which can result in a negative effect to the body. Here is an example:

Johnny starts taking gear from an UGL lab at age 24 and continues regular injections, ingestion of gear for 20 plus years. He develops cancer which may or may not have been from all the years of taking gear that contained heavy metals. Lets say each injection contained trace amounts of heavy metals, so small that is fell below a certain standard. Over time repeated small traces add up in the body. No one will ever know if the metals were the result of the Cancer, but one can conclude it played a part.

Now the past 20 years most of us on a forum like this have injected gear mostly from UGLs. Call this period the Golden Years of Steroid use. Never in the history of AAS have more people injected themselves with gear. Before, AAS use was exclusively used by a very small segment of the population. Today anyone can buy gear with ease. As a result more people will die from a complication of AAS use than ever before. You dont need a study to conclude this.

So will heavy metals or the chemical compound lead to disease/death? Its the risk many will take but never want to get an answer on.

I wont be responding to anything else on this thread!!!

Of course there are heavy metals in everything.
Drinking water
Bagels
Dog food.

That's almost a given amigo
The issue is that there is not a substantial enough amount to be anywhere near harmful, ESPECIALLY in gear raws.

Are you just making a blanket statement on Heavy metal contamination in everythinf?
Or are you specifically talking about dangerous amounts in gear?

If the first one, you're right.

However, when it comes to gear, there isnt even close to.enough to be harmful, also any lab can test this stuff and will not even ask what the compound is.

I do a crap tonne of heavy metal and chemical testing, for issues such as water leaks in underground facilities (Tryinf to shift the blame to the city, to get a payday, in case a pipe.burst)
I do about 3 sample batches per week (Usually consisting of around 12 samples per batch)

I've never once gotten asked what the sample is made of, it's perfectly safe to test for heavy metals in your gear at accredited facilities without being worried, in case you're curious.

I also build the Decon facilities for said laboratories, and I can say with 100% certainty that they dont care what your sending in, they just test for what you pay for.

Clarification would resolve a lot of this

Heavy metal toxicity
Check kidney function etc.

usually heavy metal buildup/toxicity is either extremely environmental (Like obvious as fuck, working in a thermometer factory type shit)
Or your bodies own inability to filter and excrete/remove the heavy metal, rarely is it because of something like gear or diet.

Dude, all I literally asked for is if you have better search terms I can use.

When I can't find adequate results, and you won't post the studies you say support what you're saying, and you won't give search terms... well surely you can understand how this appears.

People have a right to ask for information supporting your statement. I'm happy to do the leg work; which I tried but didn't get results I was really happy with.

When someone tells me I need to be concerned about something, then I want to arm myself with information so I can better understand the risks and probability. I can't do that without some direction to what it is you are referencing. It has nothing to do about trusting you or anyone else who posts up information.. but instead it's about digesting the original information for myself.

Some people are fine with just being told things... that's not me, instead I want to truly know things, and I can only do that by having access to the original source information in question.
This is the most charitable, patient response I have ever seen. I salute you.

This thread was all well and good. But it’s all hypothetical fear.

Heavy metals in steroids? Oh my god the sky is falling. We’re all drug addicts with no regard for what we inject. Tsk tsk. We’re terrible bad people. This is why we need big government to watch out for us. If left to our own, we certainly aren’t capable of performing our own due diligence with regard to our safety.

If anyone wants to test something for heavy metals, submit anything from your local seafood counter for heavy metal analysis. The ocean is literally a dumping ground for all past indecretions. China, India, and other developing nations have a complex carefully engineered web for waste disposal - the chuck it or pour it into the nearest river. Everything flows into the oceans and the oceans don’t respect national boundaries. Crack a can of tuna and you’re ingesting more metals than you’ll ever get out of a lifetime of UGL steroid abuse.

This is why I’m all for meeting up a couple times a year and just beating the shit out of each other .. get it out of our system

I'll stand and watch
Cant afford anymore concussions, FAR too many as it is, I'll be drooling after one more solid hit lol

Selenium helps remove heavy metals from the body. Hence why mercury poisoning isn't much concern eating tuna every day. /thread
I take selenium every day in supplement form. 😁

Do you eat lots of canned Tuna? Sardines? Eating lots of canned tuna can raise levels of mercury in your body significantly.

Recrystallization might very do jack for heavy metal contamination, as it's even traces that mater.
So unless you chelate or precipitate them, it ain't helping.

About your claim of heavy metals in AAS raws, please, provide your proof. Others have already mentioned the evidence against your claim, so defend your claim with evidence please.
This thread is a shitshow but I figured I'd chime in a bit.

Recrystallization is a valuable thing to do to remove impurities. How much it does for heavy metals? Probably not too much but it certainly will lower the amount.

I don't know about precipitation of heavy metals, which usually involves a hydroxide, on complete steroids. I haven't gone through the chemistry of each compound to find out if there's even an option that won't react with the compounds directly or the biproducts of binding to heavy metals react with anything. In the end I don't think it's even worth the effort to look into.

And as far as the claim about heavy metals in raws from China, you posted in support of FD's claim. Albeit in quantities that are typically acceptable for injection.

I can say I have taken significant amounts of gear over the years and have never had elevated levels of any heavy metals. At the substancially lower doses I take at this point in my life, it's nothing I would ever be concerned about whatsoever.

Ever been to SE asia?

Bro
The fucking rivers etc are POLLUTED
Like garbage and oil everywhere, your average. ody of water looks like what westerners think of as a toxic waste dump.

Its fucking WILD what they've done to their environment.

I do t believe this global warming nonsense, but I do think we should save our beautiful nature from this kind of shit.

Developing nations dont let something silly like the environment stand in their way of prosperity! Once they develop and their GNP increases then they have the luxury of giving a fuck about aesthetics. That’s a 1st world problem.

The US contributes such a small percentage of the worlds plastics and CO gases. It’s retarded to believe we can have an affect.

There was a great piece written by novel prize winning economists.

Basically, "Teying to save the environment" will not work
Period
All these green solutions are retarded and wont amount to anything.

But like you said, once GNP/GDP hits a certain level and average household income hits a certain level.. people stop having kids and stop polluting.

Want to save the world, make money
