Even with blood donations every 6 weeks I couldn’t lower my hemocrit. I was prescribed 1.1 CC every two weeks. Any suggestions on what I can do to lower it? I’ve cut way way down on red meat, eating 1 grapefruit a day, I only drink alcohol a few times a year and I quit caffeine. I’m a 50 yo male

More important than letting us know you eat grapefruit would be your Crit level. Let's start there.

I had to use 2 clinics for about a year, one to donate double reds and one for just blood.

I would do double red every 4 months and regular blood every 8 weeks.

What's the difference in your markers between donating double red and whole blood?

That is what I did. Now instead of .8 ml or 160 mg of cypionate per week, I'm starting over at 50 mg per week and they will adjust from there.
Better then having a stroke right

I would have to look it up but it would go from normal to slightly high, now it stays normal and I only donate whole blood.

Endo wanted me to lower test too low, I'm only 700ng 7 days out, I said fuck that and flushed my blood lol.

Many find that they more they break up their dose up the less negative hemocrit/RBC issues. And you may be able to get the same benefits with a lower total dose then you are taking now.

My brother was there. They had him donating blood every month and it brought it down to about 52 over 5 months.

Here's the fucked up part, when he popped 52 they said he was good. They wouldn't script him to donate anymore

Yes. What really pissed me off is the TRT clinic that I was using NEVER called me back after I started experiencing issues in October of 2023. I was getting weird muscle spasms in places I had never gotten muscle spasms before. I also had an irregular heartbeat from the high hematocrit that has since corrected itself as well. I wonder how many of those people pegging >1,500 on total testosterone with hematocrit and red blood cell counts on the high side are going to have the same issues that I had. I can't be the only oddball out.

Sure, in the beginning I was fine. It's running that way for nearly SIX YEARS that played hell on my body.

Are you drinking enough water before bloodwork? A lot of Hematocrit levels show high due to dehydration. Should be drinking a gallon of water before your bloodwork.

I did not before the last check. The appointment slipped my mind and I probably was a little dehydrated at the time.

I drank more than enough water, and it still did not help. I even donated blood 2 weeks before labs just to get my numbers in range. I know how to play this game, lol.
