How do you get hyped up to train on days you don't feel like it?

Some days training is easy, you feel good and energetic, have good rest and feel great and hit the gym. Other days, you feel tired, sluggish, bad weather how do you go to the gym on those days?

For me I watch videos like this. So many good quotes and short clips.

One of my favorite ones "“Motivation is what gets you started. Habit is what keeps you going.” and “You’re going to have to let it hurt. Let it suck. The harder you work, the better you will look. Your appearance isn’t parallel to how heavy you lift, it’s parallel to how hard you work.”

Hard one. Music, reminding myself I gotta work harder due to age, going through the motions can be potentially beneficial vs nothing. At time I loose. I usually work out alone but Working out with a person to hold one another accountable helps, when my wife goes I usually fell compelled, I gotta show my ownership and peacock lol jk I very introvert in person.

I don't... I just treat it like a job and do it anyway. I don't have the natural motivation others seem to have for training. So for me treating it like a required work task is what keeps me going.

I always look at the goal i am trying to achieve when doing anything in life. The steps i have to do along the way just get me to that goal. When it is time for a set i turn it on. When the set is done i turn it off. Being hyped between sets just wastes my energy.

I just wake it up and unchain it ... *shrugs. The other me takes over.

I'm gone , it's focused controlled detonation time. Then I blow off the extra steam in my brain and try to calm down and reset my head for the next set.

An I'm not busting balls when I say this , how can you not get fired up to lift ?

I start looking at my block the night before and go over all my numbers ,where I want to be and i'll get goosebumps and feel the adrenaline just doing that.

If I deload I can't really sleep and the night before I start back up it's like being a kid on Christmas eve , I just keep picturing the days lifts in my head over n over and it will be damn near impossible to fall asleep.

I find my routine of driving to the gym enjoyable enough that I look forward to it even on days where I physically feel weaker.

“Motivation is what gets you started. Habit is what keeps you going.”

I agree with this. If it's a habit, you don't need as much motivation.

I go to the gym first thing in the morning. I am not a morning person! Was difficult at first to get going. But now it’s just part of my morning routine. If for some reason I can’t make it to the gym in the morning. It fcks up my entire day.

I work in construction on large commercial projects , so everything is just heavy . My typical commute is usually a hour to most job sites and 1.5 to 2hrs home.

Most winters we are outside working in muddy trenches so by the middle of the week most of my training is fueled by a pre workout supp of some kind.

Your dedication still has to be on point if your head ain’t in the game you might as well check out. The best days are the hardest days those days created toughness and true discipline .

I am in my 50's now, so if I don't feel like it then I just lift less heavy and more reps - at least I am there and getting some muscle stimulation. I usually start to feel better as I'm driving to the gym. I listen to hard rock or Industrial music.

At my age with all my busted up and replaced joints I figure something is always better than nothing. If it’s a time crunch where I have to sacrifice family time then I don’t go. Only so many more days in this tank and I won’t miss something important like a family function.

I don't worry about feeling hyped up. That's just life. Sometimes you just aren't feeling it. I go do it anyway, because that's what grown-ups do.

It's kind of like my job. I don't always wanna go to work, but I like getting paid.

I don't always feel like working out, but I like being in great shape.

If I have a goal, why on earth would I allow my feelings to interfere with it? Seems like that's a huge problem these days. Everybody is making their feelings way too important.

Just get er done; you'll be glad you did. I always am.
