So I wonder now about grapefruit juice and viagra

I know some who claim viagra doesn't work at all in normal doses for them

If it doesn't work well they are probably a naturally a poor or intermediate metabolizer of cyp3a.
While I agree with most of the article and it is very informative and it's a great intro to the topic. There are quite a few things that are skipped over.

First multiple genes are responsible for metabolizing a single drug so you may have one poor metabolizing gene which is responsible for 40% of metabolizing a drug but then you are a normal or fast metabolizer of another gene which may be responsible for 30% of metabolizing the same drug.

If you slow down the drug metabolism you may be exposed to a drug far too long at an unknown dose.

Also slowing The ability to metabolize the drug can have an opposite effect as far as it not working again drug dependent and how the drug is used by the body.

But you directly answer your question Yes grapefruit juice or any other inhibitor in theory would make Viagra more effective. It would also cause it to stay in the system longer and it could also cause problems with heart or blood pressure.

Shit I need to organize this

CYP19A1 (aromatase): Converts testosterone to estrogen.

SRD5A (5-alpha reductase): Converts testosterone to DHT.

CYP3A4/5: Metabolizes testosterone.

HSD17B: Involved in testosterone synthesis.

So in theory, things like grapefruit juice alongside something like testosterone or viagra can improve the absorption in some people quite dramatically

Understanding the data behind this could really help alot of people

Not necessarily improving absorption You're retarding absorption/metabolism so it would circulate in your bloodstream longer exposing you to higher sides as well. So you have to be really careful about the medicine you are taking besides gear. Now This is all on paper and research. Some users have posted their personal experience but not many. I have lots of questions myself that I can not get a direct answer to. One concern I read about was not getting enough of the therapeutic dose on inhibitors but then everything else says the inhibitors cause it to be in your bloodstream longer exposing you to higher side effects, so which one is it. Also to be specific we're talking about the CYP 3A4 and 3A5 Genes only.
For my personal experience I have always had to take a much larger dose of meds that these two genes metabolize, for these genes I'm considered a poor metabolizer so in theory a normal person taking an inhibitor would drop down to an intermediate or poor depending on substance and quantity. Why do I need more of a substance when everything the research says claims I need less. I think there's one key step in this process that I am missing for me.
