i was told that TRT will soon be able to be bought the pharmacy and taken home instead of going to the dr's to get your injections, well at least in my state, and the dr took my test levels and mine came back at 128 he put me on HRT right away, so i got a shot there and then he ordered the cream for me so i dont have to go to him for a shot every week.

I don’t know anyone on TRT that goes into their doctor’s office to receive every injection. What a colossal waste of time and money. It’s very easy to self-inject at home. You need a new doctor fast.
it must just be my state, because i thought most everyone on this board thats on trt had to go to there doctors to get the shot. my bad im guess im wrong. but where i live they are trying to so call make it legal for a guy to just go to the drug store and pick it up and take it home.

My state just recently started mailing me my test, before I had to go pick it up.

I don't know of any state that requires TRT shots be given at the Dr.'s office. I know there are some that do that as it keeps their profits up form and added bills, they send to the insurance company. And there are some people that don't like giving themselves their own shots. .

My scripts were always mailed to me, did my own shots at home.

There's no way in hell that I'd go to a Dr's office weekly for a shot.

That is probably just the policy of that specific doctor like mentioned above. I would tell your doctor that you feel more than comfortable giving shots and you would like to inject yourself. If that fails, then I would say you don't feel comfortable with the cream because there's possibility of the cream /gel transferring from you(hands, spills, accidental use) to a young daughter or grand daughter and wife. your daughter has not reached puberty yet and you do not want her to experience precocious puberty(you have a friend who's endocrinologist blames indirect transfer of androgel for your friends 7-year-old daughter who now has to take medication that is given to rapist and transitioning trans people to stop her puberty, it is very mentally damaging, and insurance will not cover it unless your transitioning and your wife has a lot of masculine features it looks like a femboy and you don't want her looking any more manly she already has to shave face twice a month.
If all that fails, fuck them and find a new doc

yes my doctor does NOT like given out any narcotics at all, but since i had two blood test come back low at 128 and the second one at 108, he started given me a test shot from the office, he called it in and i had to run to the pharm to get it down the street and come back and have his nurse give me the shot, yes it's weird that i have to do it this away, but he said they are trying to get it to where i can have it shiped it to my home, again must be the missouri state law UNLESS he is to strict to just perscribe it to his patients.

Testosterone is not a narcotic for one thing. If your Dr said it was i would get another Dr.
And if they can have test sent to your house then you are allowed to have it at home then you can get it at the pharmacy. It is either your Dr or your insurance company causing the problem. Or your Dr just does not understand the law. i would guess unless he is the one not allowed to prescribe it for some reason. Then i would go to a different Dr.

How frequent are your injections?

Here in SC, I do my labs at my 6 months visit to get my heart meds, etc , and the Dr. sends my scripts straight to the pharmacy. I pick up a 90 day supply of everything including testosterone, and then once again after 90 days. After that, I go to my Dr. for my 6 month labs.

It sounds like that practice has had problems with scripting to a patient in the past, are overly paranoid about writing controlled med scripts, or they are maximizing their profit.

Not knocking your Dr., that just what I'm getting from reading your post.

Any doc who says they don't write narcotics is a fool and doing a massive disservice to patients. Test is not a narc but is controlled substance. As long as they cover their ass with protocols and follow them the can essentially be a pill mill.

I agree. That's why I mentioned to the OP that I think he's not getting the entire truth.

So I think you answered the question. You said the prescription was sent to the pharmacy to be filled and YOU went to pick it up. That means you can do your own injections at home. It is your doctor that is asking you to come back to the office and have a nurse give you the injection.

If I were you, I would ask your nurse to show you how to do the injection yourself and then tell your doctor that coming in once a week for this is too big of a cost and too big of an inconvenience. Then ask him if he ask diabetics to come in for every injection if he still balks at the idea.

Sure testosterone is a scheduled drug but it isn’t like there is a risk of addiction. You aren’t going to be sucking dicks to get your next fix or breaking into cars for spare change.

Good catch on that comment, looks like most of us have poor reading comp lol.
Side note AAS can be addicting there are quite a few studies on it, granted nothing like narcs but for small minority they are.
Side note weather it was addiction or just a want but 10yrs in marriage I was given an ultimatum, gear or wife, I chose gear. I am still married.
