Stupid question, Only times I've used Insulin it was always normal vials that were supposed to stay in the fridge, I assume since people carry the pens those are stable at room temp?

Grabbed a CGM and not liking what I'm seeing, nothing terrible, but still bullshit, so why not get a bump I say đź‘Ť

Not an answer to your question, but your blood glucose level isn't the entire picture. Are you insulin resistant, or is your pancreas not producing sufficient amounts of insulin? You should check your blood insulin levels, too.

Are you eating a very large amount of carbohydrates?

That's what I still can't quite figure out, my insulin response seems great, lower carb, higher carb, my spikes seem to happen decently quick after meals, and I'm typically back to baseline within an hour, so seems as far as recovery I'm still very insulin sensitive, what's weird is my fasting/idle levels suck. Usually 95-110. Especially given I've been on Semaglutide for appetite control for a while now. That may explain the quick response to the spikes, but can't figure out why I'm not going back down to a good idle speed either.

My last handful of A1C's have been in the 4.8 - 5.2 range, so this is definitely newer. My thing is if my fasting numbers are always basically around 100, that's hurting the chipping away at fat I'm trying to do for the next couple of months, so I'd just assume force it's ass down where it's supposed to be.

I'm thinking maybe a fasting Insulin test this weekend, previous ones have always been really good, so that'd be interesting to see.

Well, with your A1c being in a good place, the higher morning fasting glucose could simply be your body's natural response to waking up. Cortisol gets bumped right before we wake up, it signals the liver to release glucose, so that could be it.

The fasting insulin test will add a few pieces to the puzzle.

With your BG being good throughout the day, as reflected by the A1c result, it's probably nothing.
