Hi everyone, this is my first post on here. 7 months ago I had a pec strain doing incline machine presses. Was able to finish the workout with some cable flys with some pain. After the injury, I noticed quite a bit of swelling; however no bruising. I was able to flat bench @70% 3 days later. But, the injury seemed to never heal. Any incline presses kept giving me problems and I restrained it a couple times. I’ve been to 2 orthopedic surgeons and gotten an mri and all of this has pointed to a partial pec tear at the myotendinous junction. Both orthos said it should heal in a month or two despite it already being 7 months out.
Since then I have cut out all chest days and rather am throwing in a couple exercises every other day for 4 sets of 30 to help rehab. I am seeing very little progress and the muscle itself feels mushy in the upper portion of the sternal head. I’m trying to keep my head up and keep training around the injury to give it more time but I’m definitely getting cabin fever.
Has anyone felt with strains / partial tears that take longer than 7 months to heal? I’m just not sure why it’s been this long with no improvement. I’ve tried bpc-157 which didn’t seem to do much so all I have left is time or finding another ortho who may have the solution.
