⚠️Warning! Rant on the way.

I have about had my fill of people that disregard someone else efforts. Recently I took a nice buck during archery. I showed a pic to a co-worker who hunts. His response was, "You're lucky. You seem to get one every year". Lucky, really? How about the fact I spend more time in the woods scouting, setting up trail cams and tending a food plot than most hunters spend actually hunting? Oh but I guess it's luck.

Then there's the guy who gets chatty on the beach. You know, the "So what's your bench" guy. The one that says, "I wish I look like that" Wish? How about picking a weight if that's what you want? You think I just rubbed Aladdin's lamp and POOF! Yeah it must be luck. Can't be decades of non-stop hard work.

Oh, we're not done. How about the one that says, "Must be nice" when you say you're going a vacation? A friend of mine went on a 10 day Alaskan cruise. The one guy said, "Must be nice". Like he was begrudging my buddy because it's something he can't do. They don't see how my buddy has his own business, probably works about 10 hr a day 6 days a week and paperwork on Sundays. But the my buddy decides to take some time off and spend his hard earned money and is made to feel guilty for going on a nice vacation? Maybe hard work has provided for some of the nicer things in life.

Envy is one of the seven deadly sins for a reason. It's easier to be pissed off at someone else's success and/or accomplishments than it is to put in the work to achieve these things for yourself.

Before I started killing deer on public land I went through 4 seasons of learning curve where I didn't come home with a single animal. Not ONE.

My wife's friends all joked about "what was I actually doing," etc. Literally got made fun of (I don't care because I'm not fragile, it was funny.) People said I was stupid for hunting public land, I'd get shot, all that.

Then it just clicked and all my efforts paid off and I started stacking deer and pigs up practically every other weekend I went.

I KNOW THE WORK PAYS OFF BRO! You gotta put in the time for anything good you want in this life.

I only look good now because I spent so much time trying to get to where I'm at. Persistence.

Respect you much big guy.

So true.

Good for you.

I got a few on public land and I can say it's not easy. Stupid deer don't live long on public land so you're hunting the Smart ones

I thought this was going to be a link to your OnlyFans based on the title.

Speaking of hard work, I've gotta update mine.

But in all seriousness, @snake is right. People nowadays want to guilt trip anyone who is financially stable, attractive, happily married, good at something, etc. I don't get it.

As a non-hunter with many, many hunter friends it is my job to remind them how fucking awesome they are. How else am I going get my freezer full of deer?

About 10 years ago I bragged about how good my venison bologna was and the pigs I raised. I met a couple of our brothers from UG at one of our powerlifting competitions and I brought some with me.

Those fuckers haven't left me alone ever since

Love you my friend.
Sorry snake I have to agree. If I take down a buck every year everyone I know is going to hear about my hunting skills. Same with the cruise. Eat your hearts out suckers.

Your story kinda took me back lol. I spent my 20’s and early 30’s strictly hunting public. The why, is cause it was my only option. I got ridiculed from both sides. Like u mentioned, the ones who call u an idiot cause u hunt public. But I also got it from the other public hunters. Reason being, I hunted every damn day. Apparently their lack of success was because I hunted to much. Yet I never had a problem. In my head tough hunting takes lots of time.

I very rarely hunt public anymore. Truth is the only thing that gets my heart pumping these days is a big ole brute. Let’s cut the shit and all agree big brutes are much more common on private.

I hunt the entire season strictly with a recurve. I won’t shoot farther than 20 yards. Not because I can’t hit a box target out to 50 yards. But my bow goes 150 fps! A perfect shot at 30 yards could end up as a Texas heart shot with my equipment.

I also learned how to hunt smarter not harder. I do not need to hunt every day after all these years. Will also say when chasing older age class bucks less is best.

Still run into idiots who say what I do is easy or luck. I keep the pressure off until the rut then move in. If they could keep the pressure off they would kill em to 🙄.

Finally had enough last season and said deal! Put your freaking money where your mouth is. I hand u my recurve and give u sole permission to a property. U give me your rifle and permission to hunt your lease and let’s just find out who has it easier.

Crickets……..,

Well said. Wish someone envied me for something.

Fishing, gym, hunting, your wife your kids. There will always be envy. Just realize envy is poorly spoken praise.

Let's face it you are blessed @snake. You married the right woman. You were given the right kids and that physique is just genetics. So thinks the person who has never worked hard to get what they want. I'm sure you have to work at being a great husband. I'm sure you have to discipline your kids. And I know you work harder than others in the gym.

By the way. I was very taken off balance by a negative rant from you. You are one of the most posative thinking people I know. I guess even you need to blow off steam every now and then.

When I grow up I want to be a snake.
For now I will put up with my faults

Thanks brother. It just grinds my stones when people want to achieve something but won't put in the effort. It has the smell of entitlement to it.

I feel I'm average and middle of the road with my abilities. I just find it easy to outwork most people since they are mostly lazy.

Real success is gauged by how much you enjoy something. Not how well you compair to others.

I'm one of the most successful people to lift weights in the gym. I don't get paid. It costs me time and money. I have never won a prize. But I won't stop till I'm dead.

Just keep being true yourself and you have lived a blessed life. If you are really lucky you may have influenced others to a better life on the way.
