I've been on a few Boards for a while cause I have body dysmorphia, which
is not necessarily good for your physical health unless you are careful to manage it.

Same goes for the rest of your health. What do you suppose will make you happiest between now and whenever you are destined to die decades from now?

Priorities, Bro ... you look great unless being an IFBB Pro is your only goal.

Kind and thoughtful bro. It stems from control issues and other personal issues I let overshadow my view of myself.

Plus it’d be nice to be jacked and defined

Control issue is a big one. Having so many things in our lives that we're stressing over, it's almost like having control over something, anything, is something that we grab for.

I've known people on both ends of things, both anorexic and obsessive workout addicts, because it was something that they can control, regardless of health outcomes.

Not tying to overstep any boundaries, but talking to someone could be helpful.

I do see what Raw and CJ mean.

I do recognize my problem.

It’s layers. Some positive and negative.
The gyms the only thing I do for myself, my hobby where I spend time and money. The gym is my stress relief and was my only outlet after leaving the church.

Attempting to control the shape of my body is in response to feeling out of control: losing my dad, coming out, losing my job, and struggling to feel like I’m staying above water in any of my life roles.

The dysmorphia comes from being thin my whole life, from feeling like elements of masculinity were missing, and idolizing big jacked dudes and wanting to look and feel like one. It’s obviously intoxicating to see your lifts increase, size grow, and feel that wellbeing. It’s also nice to realize you can have a libido with some assistance from the vial.

So obviously the reverse is true too: shrinking and losing the positive aspects in conjunction with things you’ve lost or risk losing just feels like a downward trajectory with little hope.

As it stands now, after months and months of ups and downs and being kicked… I’m four days away from a final outcome being decided. From there it’s however many business days until I learn that outcome and then should (after half a dozen false starts) move forward into whatever great or terrible chapter is to come.

great.

mf think positive.
I’m trying man.
In short, it’s been 3 years of litigation and every few months has been a decision and then appeal. Some wins, some losses. It’s a toss-up of livelihood.

Ok , we have some of the same issues and some very very different :ROFLMAO: (y)

Here's are some things that helped me through or after things like being cut, shot, the stroke , wrecking my bike , a few surgeries ... you get the idea

" To bear trials with a calm mind robs misfortune of it's strength and burden " - Seneca
*Staying calm against what ever faces you robs it of it's power over you and put's you in control.

It never matters what misfortune a man bears , it's how he bears it. - paraphrased also Seneca
*We lay down or we face it in a calm manner taking control and seizing power over it.

Pain doesn't necessarily do us any real harm.
*Pain doesn't harm moral character unless people allow it to. The real harm comes from wallowing in it or becoming frustrated with it and allowing it to conquer us.

"A gem cannot be polished without friction, nor a man perfected without trials" - Seneca
* To create a diamond, you need high pressure around 725k pounds per square inch cooking around 2500 degrees F.

After all the heat and pressure you've been through ? You know what that makes you ?

Resilient , unbreakable and well , beautiful , in other words ...
