Thoughts on this split I just randomly came up with?

Day 1: Chest, Shoulders, Triceps (Push)
Day 2: Back, Traps
Day 3: Arms
Day 4: Legs
Day 5: Chest, Shoulders
Day 6: Back, Traps, Biceps (Pull)
Day 7: Legs
Day 8: Arms

Having trouble with whether or not I'd want to switch days 5 and 6 or not but the general idea is that you're able to have dedicated arm days without taking as much focus away from your chest and back that you would on an Arnold split since you hit both on the same day. Something like this may already exist but I was just curious if this split is good or if its just the worst of PPL and Arnold combined lol.

I'm no expert AT ALL, but wouldn't it be better to switch days 3 and 4 so your biceps are fresher? Doing arms after a good back day seems like it would limit your biceps' lifting potential. Could be totally wrong, though.

Keep it simple.

Pull
Push
Legs
Arms (shoulders, bis, tris)

Programmed right, you hit every muscle group twice per cycle. If you ask nicely, I can lay out an example.

Give it a go but I think you'll be over trained in 3 months. My guess is you'll have tendinous in the elbows and bursitis in your shoulders in quick order.

I'd come up with a more simple routine if I was planing one.

Do you really need to blast legs and back more than one time a week?

Days off are just as important as training days. I used to feel guilty taking days off. I had someone who I respected explain days off a growth days.

Just my 2 cents. You will find out what works best for you in time.

No. Not intended for you but I'm tired of hearing you have to do legs two or three times a week. I've had this argument way too many times and every one that said you have to train legs two three times a week all had one thing in common, they squatted less than me or weighed 40 lb more

I don’t really care about how much I squat. Just a certain look I care about. But every damn time i bought in to training legs 2+ times a week. Well…. I ended up on the sidelines injured.

Certainly sounds good on paper hitting em multiple times a week. But time has taught me, screw that!

It can work if done properly.

Quad day with a little hams on day 1, Hams day Ruth a little quads on day 2.

One day is compound lifts for the primary, the other day is isolation lifts. Like squats and leg press on day 1, leg extensions on day 2. You have to be smart about it.

I don’t doubt it can work great for some, hell even most. For me it just doesn’t work worth a squat. It took me a long time to figure out how to make my legs grow. While I don’t know if this works for a single other soul, I’m confident in saying what works for my legs. Volume! And lots of it. I don’t care to debate it or argue. But I’ve tried it all and not gonna change once I finally started getting results.

I know brotha, wasn’t even referring to u. Seen in the past people dog pile on an unpopular opinion and i just didn’t wanna be part of it. So throwing that out there in advance 😂

Prime example... I out squat CJ too. lol

What he proposes may work for some people. I have tried it but that second workout did nothing for me outside of giving me patella tendentious. In all fairness, you have to see for yourself if it works.

This is basically how I break up my leg days. I feel like it works really well and recovery is good

It seems like many pro bodybuilders do, too.

And Olympic weightlifters typically squat 3-5 times per week, and they have massive legs as well.

And si.e of the big pros train legs once every 2-3 weeks. Recovery should determine how often you train a body part. Don't allow for adequate recovery and eventually you will get injured.

100% agreed.

And every body part/muscle is different in terms of recivery time.
