I self prescribed for anti aging benifits.
Have you even taken Adderall or Modafinil ... does Selegiline have a stimulant effect (how would it compare if you have taken the others) ... would you say it increases performance ... improve mood etc ...

I have not takes those products. I have not seen anything that shows and long term benefit. and many things that point to negative side effects down the road. I use selegiline for anti-aging. Which pretty much is about slowing the break down of the body. Taking a healthy body and applying a drug for better performance generally always leads to negative sides effects. And does not aid longevity.

Are you taking trt or do you PED cycle ... the reason most of are on this site ... ?

Those things are not likely extending life ...

But I'm interested in learning more about different medications ... thanks for your responses ...

Is there a lot of negative effects potentially down the road with modafinil? Now you have me curious. I'll have to check it out.

I got interested in anti aging when i was in my teens. And got into bodybuilding several decades ago in my teens when it was considered a healthy thing to do. In my 40's i started Dr. prescribed TRT. The went to the dark side. For the last 20+ years i have perused health and anti aging as well as i can while living the life i choose to.

I have never seen a stimulant that had long term positives for health and longevity.

Selegiline is classified as a stimulant ... while not considered a controlled substance ... it does increase dopamine ... I'll admit I had never heard of it before ...

The amount of stimulatory effects from it would seem to be minimal at best. I notice nothing from it at low doses. Substances that have a very minor stimulating effect and are taken in low dose and are not being taken to get a stimulant effect would likely have little negative impact on long term health in general i would think. When i was speaking of stimulant i was more referring to drugs that are taken and heart rate, or CNS etc where noticeable increased for longer periods of time. After i got up this morning my heart rate was 70 bpm. Now after drinking 3 cups of green tea which has caffeine and is a stimulant my heart rate is 61bpm. So it would seem not all stimulants are very stimulating.

Understood ... I was simply stating the drug's classification and that it increases dopamine ...

Thanks. That is the reason i have been taking it for many years. As the increased dopamine seems to lead to longer life.

I have the same internest ... you've no seem me posting about Outlive: The Science & Art of Longetivity ... have you found a better mood and other benefits as well .. I have tried Adderral (8 to 10 years ago) and Modafinil (more recently) more for perfomance or to work longer hours .. but Addies were also appetite supressing for me .. and that did overly impact of dopamine for me ... so I stopped .. I did not find much result from Modafinil at all to stopped them as well ..

Do have expereince with them ... and did you find Selegiline superior ... or did you simply do the research and those you trust said this is the bomb.com .. and the rest is history (if yo do not mind sharing) ...

Been taking it for over 15 years so i can't say i notice anything now nor did anything really jump out when i started. I started at a fairly low dose and increase slightly as the year went by. but did cut back a while ago when the latest data pointed to less possibly being better. I was just going off the science of animals living longer that used it. I don't base to much of what i do or take off of how i feel as that is very subjective. Unless mood/feelings is what i am trying to influence.

#1 Good healthy food with plenty of veggies and some fruit. I started looking into anti-aging several decades ago and this seems to have been proven better than anything else.
Deprenyl and metformin seem to have good results with no real downside to their use for most people.
I used HGH but it seems the long-term results don't look promising last i checked.
I don't look at short term science and think i can apply that as a viable long-term strategy.
