Being vegan is a mistake.

Having anemia and wanting to run DNP is a NO.

I don't really see a solution to your problem, unless you stop being vegan, fix your anemia, get out of the hospital bed, start lifting and eating a muscle building diet... and then, then you might want to think about use DNP.
I understand. However, I just can't ever see myself not being a vegetarian even if I would see more gains in term of my muscle mass. To be fair, I am not a Westerner so it would be impossible for someone of my body type to have that kind of physique. Maybe in another life I can come back as a 6ft 180 lb woman of steel but I kind of have to accept my limitations now.

How were your iron levels? Would seem difficult to fulfill your iron needs while female and vegan.

It's pretty common for women to be prescribed/given birth control based on the 'most popular' version, when in reality it should be based on hormonal panels. I can't give direction beyond that, but an example is that some birth controls will raise Progesterone - while the user already has high progesterone... which the Doc would have known if they did a hormone panel.

Squeaky wheel gets the grease. Keep bothering them until you get your tests; they are FAR less interested in getting your bloodwork than you are. Make it in their interest to get you what you need (by pestering them until they do it). You're willing to take a drug KNOWN to kill people to lose weight... can I suggest that you exhaust better options first? It's likely you'll find better results with HRT/Thyroid management if what you're saying about your caloric intake is true.

I think this is your perception, not the reality. Fit people are not the norm.

I notice you witheld mention of your weight. I don't care that you did, nor does your weight really matter... what does matter is if you're able to have an honest and objective conversation with yourself to address these issues. Your diet, currently, is a serious concern - and your unwillingness to change that to improve your health is telling. DNP will not solve this issue, you will still be bleeding out, anemic, and otherwise malnourished.

If you are accurately counting your caloric intake, have no Iron, Thyroid, or otherwise Hormonal issues - then you have an actual metabolic condition that needs addressing. If you haven't addressed your iron, thyroid, or hormones - I would not recommend DNP or anything like it. Your supplements are not the problem. Lack of them, possibly.

My OB/GYN didn't actually say but I can check the actual results online later. All she said was that I was severely anemic and that I needed to take an iron supplement twice a day urgently. I mean, I already figured based on the amount of bleeding so I was taking an iron supplement once a day myself but apparently it wasn't making a dent if the results came back like this.

Sorry I can't quote your other comments but I am on mobile. I will definitely insist on having a hormone panel at my next appointment then. That's actually something I thought might be an issue to look into, but I guess I never realized how important it might be to get one first. I always assumed the doctor would recommend one if needed. As for why I am even considering DNP in the first place, it's only because I've become so desperate for help. I can't continue on to stay in bed wasting away while my career and life just pass me by.

Also, based on the research I've done, there are very actually few cases of deaths caused by DNP as there are endless accounts of users on YT and on this very forum even. I mean, there's even a section with a sticky thread with popular myths about DNP and other information which I've read and it seems the main issues are overdosing. I planned to go at a very low dosage and only for the minimum amount of time. As I mentioned previously too, my plan was to run this idea by my doctor as well and ask about other alternatives. I have spoken to her about my issues but it's an issue of getting anything done through my HMO. That said, it never hurts to get information from bodybuilders and others who focus on fitness as I know from experience they tend to be far more savvy about alternatives or cutting edge exercises, nutrition, supplements and etc.

I haven't mentioned my weight because I don't see it leading to a fruitful discussion quite honestly. I'm sure you can see some of the not so kind responses my post has already garnered despite sharing personal and often painful information. I'm sure that it goes without saying how difficult it is to be ill and struggling to see the light at the end of the tunnel. That's actually one of the reasons I had to stop watching my calorie intake. It ended up causing me too much anxiety as I am numbers obsessed and an app like Fitness Pal only added to the stress since the calories are entered by individual users. Meaning, if I ate a medium banana, I could get two entries and one might say 10 calories more or less with the same description which just made me extremely anxious. My goal currently though is to consistently eat two meals so I can take my medication and once I am hopefully better, then I can start calorie counting again and cutting.

if I missed it I apologize. how tall are you, how much do you currently weigh?
I only mentioned my height which is 5ft or 152 cm. I am not going to mention my weight as I can already see how the discussion here is going to devolve even further based on some response. For my own my mental health, I'd rather just not chum the waters for the sharks on here.

Regardless, as a short woman, even a small 5lb weight gain is extremely noticeable as there is nowhere for the weight to hide. I have more than 5lbs to lose though, and I wouldn't be here if I really didn't need the help.

DNP will not help you with this. You don't need DNP, you need to fix your medical stuff.

Your weight can be sorted out after you get your health right.

Since your race/genetics seems to be a handicap for building muscle, it's all the more reason not to go vegan and eat meat.

However, veganism is more dangerous due to anemia and vitamins and minerals deficiencies than difficulty building muscle.

In any case, your decision condemns you to climb a steeper mountain than necessary.

I am a great defender and promoter of DNP, but in your case, I don't see how it could be a good idea, in DNP it will make you more lazy, it's the last thing you want when you can't get out of bed.

Sure, I understand that it can be seen as a pill that "simulates exercise", but unless you had 60 extra pounds of fat to lose, possible risk of heart attack, higt tension, diabetes, etc... that's a no.

Just building on the vegetarian diet, medical issues and blame game of gender, race/ethnicity as reasons why you can't meet your goals, I am also going to tell you that DNP is not right for you.

Additionally, DNP is not prescribed by physicians. The chances of your doctor being able to or better yet being willing to discuss with you whether or not is is right for you is slim to none.

Didn't you like one of the posts accusing me of being a troll? Why are you even adding your two bits then? No one asked for your unsolicited opinion quite frankly especially when you come in absolute bad faith and utter ignorance.

What blame game of gender, race, vegetarian diet and medical issues? These are fact. I am a strict vegetarian and I am not going to change that. Full stop. The medical issues are also inmutable, but I can't even be bothered to explain anything of that complexity to you nor do I care what you think or believe.

As for your last point, it is painfully clear that you seem to be under the mistaken impression that no differences exist. However, this is another incontrovertible fact as you can readily find world data showing height differences by nation online. Western nations tend to have taller citizens due to a mix of environmental, cultural and dietary factors. I'm going to assume you've never traveled as that becomes rather obvious once you actually move out of your little corner of the world. I've lived in various countries and I am not Western born. English is in fact my second language but even in Japan, I am usually the shortest woman around. Yes, there are women shorter than me but not very many. And I've never seen the kind of larger frames that I've seen in the West unless they were actually foreign or Western born. But genuinely, I don't care about your opinion on anything.

And please, reading comprehension is important. I said I would  discuss taking DNP with my doctor, not ask for a prescription. Kindly see yourself out of this thread especially since I am a troll right?

I knew this was a b/s thread once I started seeing paragraphs after paragraphs 😄😄
Then why comment? Don't you have any other hobbies than to make fun of a person who is ill and bedridden? Imagine this being the way someone who is supposed to be an "elite" member greets a new member to the forum.

This message is to the vast majority of you who decided it would be the height of hilarity to dogpile on a new member to the forum by mocking their illness and questions on the chatbox as well as on the replies.

First, I only disclosed information about why I was ill because Andrewgen asked about my condition and I stupidly assumed it was a good faith question. Had I any idea the majority of you would turn around and act like gossipy children then obviously I would have not said a thing. Needless to say, I have learned all I needed to know about the kind of forum and people that seem to frequent here. If the price of getting advice is having to spend a millisecond with the lot of you, it is absolute not worth it.

It really speaks volumes about the kind of people you are more than it says about me. If you thought you were going to get a human punching bag, you were sorely mistaken. I guess you all ran out of newborn puppies to strangle or poor orphans' crutches to kick. Way to prove how strong and brave you are by picking on someone who is quite literally bedridden and sick by the way. Bully for you!

Anyways, I am going to contact a moderator to lock this thread so you can go find someone else to go try to pick on because I am not the one. If anyone else is considering joining this forum, this the kind of "welcome" you can expect.

Ms. Naomiosaka,

What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having read it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Additionally, if you don't like the opinions that you are getting and don't want to read them, don't post on OUR board. This is an open forum.

You came here, not the other way around.

Lastly, if you want to talk like a reasonable person who takes the advice of someone who has likely been in the fitness industry for longer than you have been alive, you can put your feelings in another room then come back here for good advice regardless of whether or not you want to hear the truth.

Otherwise, you don't belong here.

You don't get to make up truth here...ma'am

Look, I am sure you wouldn't know logic or rational thought if it hit the wide open space between your ears. I've no doubt all the big words confused you but that's really not my problem. Let me put it in words even you can understand: you can grunt away here all you want, but I am never going to listen to your monosyllabic utterances. I don't care what you have to say in the least because you don't have the mental capacity to go toe to toe with me.
