Energy just rock bottom today, even if mood was fine. End of the week I guess and I have gone hard.

Oh and I got sun, probably a big part of it.

Kinda aimless today. But feeling the striations in my triceps when I touch my arm etc. so hitting arms has felt beneficial.

Saw buddies I haven’t in a while. They were really cool and encouraging; “are you competing?”, “if you have a show, we’ll get tickets to support you!”, “what’s your routine?”, “whole new man”. Which is great when the guys lift you up.

Also, sushi bake and homemade cheesecake were wins as far as a chill home cooking activity and reward.

Well, I shouldn’t be wearing medium tanks anymore: I’ve lagged on cardio and diet.

I’ll get back at it next week. Once schools out it will be much easier to hit cardio hard.

Today:
Treadmill, 15 elevation, 3.0 speed, 40 mins
Went EASY
Mostly because I didn’t lift, but also because I wasn’t busy and didn’t mind walking in place.

Weather dipped today, so I used the unseasonably cool opportunity to pack and move my classroom to the truck. But smashed my hand and tweaked my back I think. One side of lower back feels a little pinched.

Todays a rest day because of my work schedule, but I am limping a little. It’s the type of thing I expected to heal today, but probably will tomorrow.
Despite best effort, I know I slept crooked to compensate. Plus it was Day 2 on a new mattress so pretty awkward.

I smashed my pointer finger pretty good at work a couple weeks ago. It’s been frustrating cause it hurts during any heavier pulling movement to grip onto the bar or whatever it is.

Those little injury’s are super frustrating haha.

At least I didn’t damage anything. I’m still sore midday right now, but it’ll probably be fine tomorrow.

Visited new school for a meet and greet as the newest staff member.

Clearly people talk; staff, parents, and even students seemed to know my full biography. I was asked to lead the various clubs or teams based off of the anecdotal things they learned about me.

Cornered by all three groups alike and grilled with excited questioning. So I do feel welcome.

Man, I will have to step up my game. Already received more interest, enthusiasm, curiosity, and information than a full months worth of conversation.

Already been asked absurd and personal questions by everyone. Like insane.

On the positive; I received only a nod from the jacked gym coach, but lots of flattery from staff and students “that I look bigger” and was asked for my split and diet already.

I also have an in with the local fancy powerlifting gym. I’ve known the owner and been a member, but they’re going to have a kid in my class and got an invite to come check out the new upgrades. Which is thoughtful: the members at that gym are VERY cool, smart, and actually distinguished.

**Ive been noticing some bicep cuts/insertions more and more the last two weeks. A first thought it was a bruise or vein, but today definitely clearly noticeable shape. Which is very encouraging that the past month of arms has made a difference.

Others have commented but new definition is undeniable. Yay.

Feeling really guilty and the post-drinking-blues.

Today would’ve been a rest day. Instead hit treadmill for 40 mins.

I was very much eating poorly this last full month. Blaming work, but it’s really my fault.

I said I’d step it up this week and I will. Likewise, I’ve lagged on cardio, but I only have THREE more workdays to survive and then I’m gonna use that extra time to dial in additional cardio.

I suspect I’ll lean back out pretty quick, all things considered, and be back in a shape I’m content with by mid July.

Side Note: I showed my upper glute to the security and bouncer who refused to let me in. They thought I was smuggling contraband or something, thought my butt was padded. They apologized and let me through.

Two other guys said they’ve seen me with a nasty upper body pump and have been steadily improving. Which is good to hear, I’ve beat myself up for this weekend. Which honestly only probably set me back a few days since it was just one night of heavy drinking.

Plus one of my gym buddies just keeps exploding in size, so it’s nice to hear I may also be on the right track too.

This is my fourth consecutive workout with actual cardio and I’m really trying to recommit to it as I enter my summer break.

Today, finished the school year. Which means a summer of getting into shape!

The adults were great, we all felt like survivors after a chaotic year. Feeling like we were all being released on parole after a stint.

The kids: could care less. No “goodbyes”, no “thanks”, no “what can I do for my grade”, no “these are my summer plans”. Truly impersonal, apathetic, and unexcited. Which is pretty sad actually.

Today, I did do my cardio. Like I’m trying to commit to. However, I didn’t really lift.

Instead, I showed a friend who’s brand new to free weights how to hit a lot of different lifts. I have to say, yes we started really low: but he really seemed to nail the form right away. I’m especially impressed with his first deadlifts and squats.

So, hopefully he sticks to it. He felt encouraged and rightfully so, he took the modeling and cues well.
