I'm someone that works an hour away from my house,
Ideally, I would like to get into meal prepping for the week and start bringing lunch to work.(Which I'm sure the majority of people here do) Sometimes that's not totally a realistic option. Do you guys have any go-to healthier food options that you would recommend? Have just about every major fast food chain available. (Chick-fil-a, Jimmy Johns, Inn n' Out, Wendy's, McDonalds, Five Guys, Chipotle, Zao's, etc.. etc.. I even have a grocery store nearby that I've considered going in and buying a salad kit for lunch.)
I've always been more of a convenience type of person so if you have any healthier suggested items or styles at any of these places I would love to hear them.

Hit the grocery store, go to the deli, buy some quality lean turkey or roast beef. Now walk over to the produce department, grab an apple or some berries. There's lunch.

Stay away from the fast food restaurants.

Meal prep is first choice though, it's easy, don't bullshit yourself.

You've got to be trolling. If you're not, you're lazy, it takes an hour pf time and 30-50 bucks to prep 5 lunches and some snacks dude
Fair! What kinds of meals do you prep for your lunch then? Chicken & Rice or what kind of meals do you prep?

I like this suggestion a lot. Just eat the straight turkey, no carbs right?

Whatever you normally eat that's healthy, simply cook in larger quantities.

Otherwise quality meats, paired with rice, potatoes, squash, and add some veggies.

In all honesty, meal prepping is the most convenient option. take an hour or two a week to cook your meals for the week and then youre all set.

no need to drive anywhere, no need to walk around a store, just crack it open, toss it in the microwave, then down the hatch.

A healthier suggestion is to develop a good relationship with food. One that is not based on convenience. Although I'd argue meal prepping is more convenient than driving or walking around to try to find a place to eat.

With that said, if I do have fast food then chipotle is usually my go to. Because I know the calories I'm getting are "clean", can get a good macro split, can adjust the ingredients to suit my needs, and can leverage Chipotle's interactive nutrition information on their website to build my meal easily.

My bad I didn't realize you were just starting out. I do chicken, rice and a vegetable. I make stir fry with any protein, rice, and vegetables. I'm OK eating white rice every meal, if your not baked potatos are great and pretty low cal for the volume you can eat.

200 grams of bluberries (a whole lot of berries) is only 120 something calories.

fills you up, takes some time to eat so you dont house it too fast, and curbs your sweet tooth to an extent.
fruits are your best friend

You have a crock pot?

Throw in some chicken or lean beef, a seasoning packet, add some veggies. Easy peezy beef stew or chicken stew. Add potatoes if you like.

Or make a chili in the crock pot. Just as easy, just NO CHEESE!!!

I found that NO FAT vanilla Greek yogurt, with some blueberries tossed in, COMPLETELY takes away my cravings for ice cream.
