Hey guys, I was on here a few years ago, lost my log in info so had to make a new account. I'm 60, been working out my whole life, currently doing weights 3 x week. and walking 18 holes of golf 2 x. I'm sure you're familiar with the story. lack of motivation, bad mood, not good sleep, struggle to keep the belly off.

So I'm starting TRT. 100 mgs a week 2 shots. I'm not sure what size needle I want so I was looking for some advice.

Thanks for your help.

this wont hurt a bit.jpg

On a serious note , it depends on how lean you are and where you are going to put it. 1/2" 29 , 1'' 23 are common.

For IM

I get 1" 23g syringe and pin combo. Also buy a pack of 1" 20g. Swap out the 23g and draw with the 20g, put the 23g back on, clear the air and pin. You could use a 25g to pin but I don't like the hard push of a 25g.

You can use 29g insulin needle, or draw with a 21-23g and inject with a 25g x 1" needle.

I much prefer insulin syringes.

or draw with a 21g and backfill an insulin syringe so the needle stays super sharp and smooth.

I use a 28g x 5/8 insulin pin (29 works fine too). I don't backfill, I just draw it right into that same pin. Yeah it takes a minute or two, but I do it while watching tv, before I go to bed at night and then I pin in the morning.

Been doing it that way for years, never had a problem, don't see a need to change it.

Really appreciate ti guys. Wife will be helping with the pin. I may have to do it myself sometimes. Don't have a problem at all with needles, but it's still easier when someone else does it.

I use a 1” 27 gauge. Takes a bit of thumb pressure to get it a few ml through a larger syringe. For 1 ml syringes it’s not very hard. I like to use the smallest needle I can get away with to limit scar tissue

I use a 27g 1 inch for IM and that shit is painless. Sometimes I actually don’t feel anything. Just put that in your glute and ur good to go. Takes a bit more pressure to get the oil in but it’s kinda nice cuz it prevents you from doing that shit too fast

I agree. It's requires a stronger thumb to push the plunger.

23 or 25g for me. My hands shake a little so I like to get the needle out fast. It all works. It's a matter of preference.
