It has come to our attention some members have been abusing the PM system to advertise and push their business onto our members. This is completely unacceptable and will not be tolerated as it violates the rules outlined by UGbodybuilding.

If anyone here has a business, and they want to offer products or services, then there is an entire sub-forum available where they may freely do so publicly. Refusal to comply with this will result in an immediate ban. There are absolutely no exceptions to this, immediate action will be taken with no warnings issued.

For members wondering why this rule is so important, then ask yourself, why would someone only use the PM system to push their business when we have an entire sub forum they could to sell their products or services. The answer is usually either scamming, selling items not permitted in promote your products sub-forum, selling dangerous low quality products that could get you hurt, or maybe even something worse. Would you trust someone trying to sell you something in a dark back alley, as opposed to someone with a well lit store front?

Rule #5, like many of the other rules, is here for the protection of the ENTIRE community. We have seen people get scammed countless times by ignoring the importance of this rule, continuing to do business with a questionable individual, and instead they report it to us after the fact when it is too late for us to protect anyone.

To be clear, individual private and agreed upon sales is different than trying to solicit or push product as a "business". If you're unsure of what the difference is then err on the side of caution and contact moderators with screenshots of the entirety of the PM conversation. We will evaluate and take action if it is clearly business advertisement/solicitation.

While UGbodybuilding, nor its staff, are not liable for any business a person chooses to engage in. However we do our best to keep the community safe.

If you have evidence that this is occuring, please contact moderators with full screenshots of the entire PM conversation. The evidence must be clear, and fairly direct. The reason is that unlike rule #1 where staff can ban without approvals, for rule #5 staff does have to justify it and take it back for review with admin.
  • Staff may perform a pre-emptive ban for rule #5 at their discretion, if staff feels the evidence provided may justify the ban.
  • Be aware that if evidence is not strong enough, then admin may choose to over ride the ban implemented by staff.
  • If evidence is not strong enough then staff will inform you of this and not perform any pre-emptive ban.
  • This is not to be dismissive. It is to avoid alerting the potential offender of rule #5, have them go quiet/dark, or have them deploy more subtle tactics that make things difficult to enforce.
I have quoted rule #5 below, and provided a link to all forum rules for anyone who needs a refresher.

5. PM system: Misuse of the PM system for advertising purposes or to solicit business from a member is not tolerated. Confidential communication between two willing counterparts is one thing but when you send a PM to a member soliciting a source or trying to push product and it's brought to our attention proper actions will be taken.

Hmm.. it's not letting me quote you @RiR0 .

Anyway, I am capable of reading between the lines but I wrote what I quoted below because I've experienced bans I issued being over ridden by admin on multiple occasions. It is frustrating because issuing the ban, only to have it lifted, alerts the "offender" and let's them hide going forward.

While I know the screenshot you posted would be dismissed by admin, I'm happy to talk to you privately about alternatives that might actually result in a ban that would not be over turned.

I've actually thought about this all night, and have some ideas if you're interested... but dont want to let the potential rule breakers see it and have them cover their tracks.

I remember this pretend doctor going around soliciting and he totally caught himself a guppy, who had quite a time getting free from him.

It truly is a pain in the ass not only for the guppies who get caught, but also for the rest of us when we have to hear the guppies whine about it.

It is worse when the guppies come forward and identify the piece of shit scumbags, and the mods do nothing about it, but turn into a bunch of whiners themselves.

If you're going to do something do it. If not, then quit your winging.

Yeah, if I remember the mods just stood around wringing their hands about it, and it was the members who eventually stood up and dealt with the guy.

Sound familiar?

Thats irony.

It's funny how people say something, yet they don't know all of what's going on. 🙄

Forget it guys. The mods don’t give one fuck.

Let @The Phoenix do his thing

Just keep reminding everyone about it out in the open. Bypass the mods they won’t do anything.

You need to check your history. I haven't banned anyone except that zeed guy since I came back to the forum at the beginning of last week. Ive been gone for 2 months straight prior to that.

If you're going to point fingers then at least make sure you are at least accusing the correct person.

Also, we will always ask for help from the community. No one is going to solicit a mod and we also can't read other people's PMs to investigate this on our own.

If no one wants to contribute then that's fine.

I have a real job, which I've been working all weekend and will have to work on labor day as well.

I'm here for this forum, but I don't get any money here. It's completely voluntary and you guys love to find reasons to fling mud even when we try to help.

Sorry if I'm always going to pick real life and earning my paycheck over this place.
